“Y3 Maame, The Voice of Our Mothers: Ghanaian Migration Stories” This initiative taps into the rich Ghanaian tradition of storytelling to foster civic engagement, support youth, and build leadership skills. Youth will interview their Ghanaian mothers about their migration experiences, promoting cultural preservation and emotional wellness. These interviews strengthen community bonds and provide a unique opportunity for intergenerational connection and understanding. Celebrate diversity and inclusion while building an inclusive Canada.
Addressing Community Needs:
Cultural Preservation and Education: By capturing and sharing migration stories, the project helps preserve Ghanaian heritage and educate both youth and the broader community about the significant contributions of Ghanaian Canadians.
Youth Engagement and Leadership Development: The project provides Ghanaian Canadian youth with opportunities to develop leadership skills, engage in meaningful activities, and gain practical experience in interviewing and digital storytelling.
