Contributing To An Inclusive Canada

By focusing on community organizations that serve BIPOC and at-risk youth, my project directly addresses the needs of marginalized groups. Providing mental health resources and support helps to ensure they have access to black therapists promoting equity and inclusion. My initiative raises awareness about mental health issues and substance abuse, which are often stigmatized topics, especially within BIPOC communities. By bringing these issues to the forefront, the project encourages open conversations and educates the community about the importance of mental health, reducing stigma, and fostering a supportive environment. Most importantly, highlighting and promoting Black professionals in therapy can help to bridge the gap in culturally competent care. Representation matters, and seeing professionals who understand their cultural background can make it easier for BIPOC individuals to seek help. This fosters a sense of belonging and trust within the healthcare system.
