Sister 2 Sister Conference 2025

Hosted By: Meron B.

Project For Ages: 10 to 19 Years Old.

Project Category: Youth empowerment

Project Summary:

The Sister 2 Sister conference provides youth leaders and schools with the tools to have change-driven conversations. The team provides young women with knowledge of restorative practices and leadership learning experiences to strengthen and integrate into their school communities. The students will participate in engaging workshops such as expression through poetry, empowerment through self-defense, mindfulness through dance, and “Changemaker 101.” The Sister 2 Sister Conference focuses on fostering an opportunity for leadership and empowerment amongst young women in Toronto.

Addressing Community Needs:

The Sister 2 Sister conference aims to provide safe spaces for marginalized women. It is a space where we can collectively identify issues specific to racialized women and address harsh topics in a way everyone can understand. Highlighting issues in the past and present that marginalized individuals face harbours a space where everyone feels welcome, understanding that the Sister 2 Sister conference is designed to fit those facing hardship. The conference underlines youth empowerment, providing young women in diverse communities the education needed to identify, address, and create change within their communities.
