Sis to Sis Toronto’s Community-Based Research Project

Our initiative delves into the challenges faced by Black women under 30 accessing mental health support in GTA. Addressing systemic barriers, it empowers five Black women-identifying youth as Peer Researchers through workshops on data collection, analysis, and mental health history’s impact on Black Canadians. Another session focuses on self-care for those collecting data from similar communities. Post-workshop, Peer Researchers will conduct online surveys aiming for 25 responses, seeking to capture the diverse experiences of Black women-identifying youth. This project aims to amplify their voices, shed light on their challenges, and contribute to comprehensive understanding and support.
