Community members will also receive reusable food containers to bring food home.

Contributing To An Inclusive Canada

The inverse of inclusivity is exclusion. For many members of the QTBIPOC community, they have experienced first-hand exclusion from their peers and even from their biological families. It is for this reason that events like the Holi”Gay” dinner were created; to intentionally build safer spaces where QTBIPOC people feel affirmed and included, even during one of the loneliest times of the year. In addition to this, winter is notoriously a challenging financial time for gig-working, under-employed, and low-income queer and trans folks. This event ensures that the financial barrier to food, joy, and community is dissolved for a night, and all are welcome regardless of financial status.
