Project Summary:

This project aims to empower parents with the skills and knowledge needed to style their children’s hair, fostering confidence and self-esteem in both parents and children. The program will consist of a couple of weekends of workshops designed to teach various hair styling techniques, proper hair care practices, and the importance of maintaining healthy hair. Last but not least, an introduction to the history of black hair and its origins.

Contributing To An Inclusive Canada

By addressing many key areas, the project will contribute to a more inclusive Canada where diversity is celebrated, cultural awareness is heightened, and all individuals feel empowered and respected regardless of their hair type or cultural background. Key areas include celebrating diversity, promoting cultural awareness, building confidence and self esteem in minority communities, empowering marginalized families, encouraging community engagement, addressing systemic inequalities, enhancing multicultural competence, inclusivity in schools and public spaces.
