Community Needs Being Met:

According to People of Colour in Advertising & Marketing’s Visible & Vocal: The Canadian BIPOC Advertising & Marketing Study (2023), 58% of respondents experienced racial discrimination at the workplace and 78% experienced a microaggression from a colleague at work. However, 82% of those who work at BIPOC majority organizations believe their employer is taking positive steps to focus on inclusion and advancement.

This project addresses the crucial need for creatives and entrepreneurs to develop strong personal branding to convey their unique value proposition. Many talented individuals possess the work ethic and skills but remain untapped and undiscovered due to a lack of effective branding. In today’s digital age, a person’s online presence often serves as their digital resume. However, it can be overwhelming to know where to start, and how to show up intentionally.

By equipping BIPOC youth creatives with the tools to frame their skills and experiences compellingly, participants can enhance their chances for job opportunities, speaking engagements, and more. By honing their brand, participants can better showcase their potential, achieve their professional goals, and thrive in creative industries. With a more diversified creative sector, the aim is that racial discrimination and microaggressions experienced in the workplace will decrease.
