Black Women in Advocacy Fellowship Program
Hosted By: Tracy K.
Program For Ages: 10 to 29 Years Old.
The Black Women in Advocacy Fellowship, hosted by Black Girl Talk Collective, is a three-month program in Winnipeg that empowers young Black women in policy-making and advocacy. The fellowship aims to address their underrepresentation in decision-making spaces. Participants receive training in policy analysis, advocacy strategies, research methods, and media engagement, along with mentorship from experienced leaders. Fellows develop capstone projects focusing on inclusiveness and social justice, culminating in policy briefs and advocacy campaigns. They also collaborate on community events to raise awareness. The program concludes with a graduation ceremony, celebrating their achievements and signaling their future as community leaders and advocates.
