Financial Literacy Workshops for Diverse Communities

Hosted By: Adiba A.

Program For Ages: 10 to 29 Years Old

The “Financial Literacy Workshops for Diverse Communities” is an inclusive project that aims to empower individuals from diverse backgrounds through financial education. Over three months, we offer tailored workshops covering budgeting, saving, investing, and debt management. We also emphasize the historical contributions of Indigenous peoples and newcomers to Canada’s economy, fostering cultural sensitivity. The program includes sessions for teenagers, young adults, and newcomers/children of immigrants. By enhancing financial literacy and understanding our diverse history, we strive to improve financial well-being, reduce vulnerability, and promote an inclusive and empowered community. Together, we build a stronger, more prosperous future for all.

Addressing Community Needs:

Promote Financial Literacy: Our project seeks to promote financial literacy by offering a series of interactive and informative workshops tailored to the specific needs of diverse community members. These workshops will cover a range of financial topics, including budgeting, saving, investing, and debt management.

Highlight Historical Contributions: We aim to highlight the historical roles of Indigenous peoples and immigrants in Canada’s economic development. By connecting the past with the present, we emphasize the importance of understanding and respecting their contributions and economic practices.

Empower Diverse Communities: Through our workshops, we aim to empower participants to make informed financial decisions, achieve financial independence, and reduce financial disparities within the community. Our project is designed to be accessible to all, with sessions for teenagers, young adults, and newcomers/children of immigrants, ensuring that financial knowledge and skills are accessible across various age groups.
