Get Moving! After-School Program – FREE VIRTUAL

ASP 2020-2021 Flyer

Calling parents, caregivers, community service providers, and youth to join our free virtual “Get Moving! After-School Program” on behalf of North York Community House!

The Get Moving! After-School Program services middle-years children, 6-12 years, across North York. We focus on providing educational, recreational, sports-based activities to participants, while teaching and leading with a holistic approach to child development. We focus on implementing topics and activities that incorporate mental health awareness, cognitive development, personal health and well-being, nutrition education, and physical activity. We believe that taking a holistic approach to child development in learning and playing allows children to grow, succeed, and thrive, while building resiliency, self-esteem and confidence.

We currently offer our Get Moving! After-School program across 7 different sites, all virtual at the moment, so children can have a safe space to see and interact with their friends while also meeting new ones! Each program is led by two trained and experienced facilitators who have an educational background in child studies, or a related field including health, human rights, social service, etc.

Some activities that we offer in our virtual program include trivia, sports-based challenges, zumba, yoga, art led activities, talent shows, and much more!

Register your child in our Get Moving! After-School program today by contacting the Program Coordinator, Jasmin De Matos, at 416-799-5963 or Jdematos@nych.ca
